These two psalms bring out the joy that comes from celebrating God’s glory and the deep longing to return to His presence. Psalm 81 invites believers to sing, dance and shout with gladness during feasts, reminding us that worship brings real happiness. Psalm 84 expresses a pilgrim’s yearning to stand in God’s holy house—he wishes he could be a doorkeeper rather than live among wicked people. Together they show how joy is tied to faithfulness, community, and the hope of seeing God again.
