WHEN THE BROOK RUNS DRY
[Verse 1 — Daily Bread]
Our Father, holy is Your name,
Your kingdom come, Your will be done;
Give us today our daily bread,
Teach us to trust You day by day.
You feed the birds, You clothe the grass,
You know our needs before we pray;
Why fear what tomorrow may bring?
Our Father knows the way.
[Verse 2 — The Provider Remains]
The brook ran dry, the ravens ceased,
But God had not forgotten him;
He sent Elijah far from home,
Where one poor widow gathered sticks.
Her flour was low, her oil was small,
Yet God saw needs they could not see;
The means may change, the brook run dry—
THE PROVIDER STILL REMAINS!
[Chorus 1 — Feed Us]
Give us this day our daily bread,
And feed us every Word You’ve said;
Not only hear, not only know—
But live the truth that You reveal.
For Jesus said, “My food is this:
To do the will of Him who sent Me.”
Feed us Your Word and give us strength
TO DO THE FATHER’S WILL!
[Verse 3 — Do His Will]
The twelve returned with food to eat;
Christ spoke of food they could not see:
“My food is doing My Father’s will,
And finishing the work He gave.”
The woman left her jar behind
And went to tell what she had found;
The soul that drinks the Living Water
Carries it to thirsty ground.
[Verse 4 — A Hungry World]
Some cry for bread, some flee from war,
Some suffer wrongs they did not choose;
Some have enough upon their tables,
Yet starve by living without Your Word.
God sees the child, the tears, the pain;
No hidden sorrow leaves His sight.
His thoughts are higher than our thoughts,
His ways beyond our sight.
[Chorus 2 — Send Us]
Give THEM this day their daily bread;
Through willing hands, let them be fed.
Where hearts are broken, send us forth
With bread, with truth, with hope and love.
You feed us, Lord—now make us willing
To share the blessings we receive;
For knowing truth is not enough—
WE MUST DO THE FATHER’S WILL!
[Verse 5 — When the Brook Runs Dry]
Amos warned of famine for the Word—
Then feed upon His truth today!
Store truth within your heart and mind;
Believe it, live it, and obey.
And when our earthly brooks run dry,
Look higher than what eyes can see;
Our help comes from the Lord who made
THE HEAVENS, THE EARTH, AND SEA!
(Climax & Appeal]
WHEN THE BROOK RUNS DRY—TRUST HIM!
WHEN OTHERS HUNGER—FEED THEM!
RECEIVE HIS WORD—AND LIVE IT!
DO THE FATHER’S WILL!
[Final Tag]
When the brook runs dry—
THE PROVIDER STILL REMAINS!
Our help is in the Lord who made
THE HEAVENS, THE EARTH, AND SEA!
