Episode notes

How do Christians live faithfully in a world that keeps trying to shape what we believe is normal?

We are not called to blend in.

But we are not called to run away either.

In Pot 3, Cup 11 of Grace in the Grind, Cody Hudson looks at what Scripture means when it calls believers pilgrims, sojourners, and exiles—people who genuinely live here while knowing our deepest belonging is somewhere else.

First Peter tells Christians they belong to God and then tells them to live honorably among those who do not share their faith.

That tension matters.

How do we work, raise families, build relationships, serve our communities, and love our neighbors without slowly letting the world define what is good, successful, loving, or true?

And how do we remain set apart without turning holiness into isolation, fear, or hostility?

We’ll talk about:

• What it means to live as pilgrims and exiles • How culture quietly reshapes what feels “normal” • Why Christians should be present without compromising • The difference between holiness and isolation • Why hope keeps Christians from panic • How fear can distort Christian witness • Why hostility is not the same thing as courage • How Scripture keeps reforming what the world has normalized • What it means to belong to Christ while living faithfully here

The Church is not called to become whatever the world wants.

And the Church is not called to hate the world for being the world.

We are called to belong to Christ and live visibly among people who desperately need Him.

Present enough to love.

Holy enough not to be defined by the world.

Hopeful enough that bad news does not own us.

Unafraid enough to obey Christ when obedience costs something.

We do not need this world to become our home.

We need to be faithful while we are here.
