Episode notes
Join host Christian Marchetti and FPF contributor Matt Olsen as they discuss a host of big topics in the Australian football scene at the moment!
We start by looking at all of the significant stories within the landscape across the past two weeks, including the major transfers across the A-Leagues and a recap of the recent results in the NPL men's and women's leagues, as 2024 seasons concluded (1:58).
Then the boys give their 'overreaction takes' from the Australia Cup quarter-finals in a fun segment, which included thoughts on South Melbourne's deep run, why another Cup title would be monumental for Macarthur, and Patrick Kisnorbo's electric start leading a new-look Melbourne Victory side (26:12).
Later on, Christian and Matt review the Socceroos' recent international window, discussing the loss to Bahrain and draw with Indonesia, and providing their opinions on Graham Arnold's job security and the discourse surrounding him. They also consider the argument that Australia are suffering from a lack of talent in the current squad (51:10).
To finish, we continue the national teams theme by briefly reacting to Tom Sermanni's appointment as the new Matildas Interim Coach and reviewing the Young Matildas' disappointing U20 Women's World Cup campaign (1:19:20), before finishing with predictions for the Australia Cup Semi-Finals (1:30:06).
