Episode 7: Lived Experiences

Preserves is a weekly podcast series on ways we can preserve the grey matter in our brains, so that we can live life as our most authentic selves. Does reading about love & loss hit the same way as when we go through them ourselves? Do the pictures housed our phone’s gallery make us feel the same way as when we lived through those same moments in real life? Do the lessons we learn in life seep deeper into our bones when they are learnt through our own lived experience? Those are the questions that we’ll be addressing today.

Episode 6: Moving Forward

Preserves is a weekly podcast series on ways we can preserve the grey matter in our brains, so that we can live life as our most authentic selves. I want you to think back to the last time you felt utterly and completely stuck. Literally or figuratively. How long did it take you to get unstuck? Or are you still stuck? Time is a very interesting thing. It’s interesting in the sense that there are 24 hours within any given day, and yet…we all experience those same 24 hours very differently.

Episode 5: Practicing Trust

Preserves is a weekly podcast series on ways we can preserve the grey matter in our brains, so that we can live life as our most authentic selves. Do you ever catch yourself thinking...why is this taking so long? Am I ever gonna get there? Maybe that’s crossed your mind while commuting back home from work Or when you’ve been doing great job at work for a long time and your manager keeps passing you over for a promotion Or maybe you’ve been going out with someone that keeps giving you mixed signals Like can’t we just skip to the part where life gets better? But see, here’s the thing: Skipping to the end takes away from the joy of the journey. A summit is only as glorious as the length & intensity of the path to it, and here’s why I believe that...

Episode 4: Life Outside of Work

Preserves is a weekly podcast series on ways we can preserve the grey matter in our brains, so that we can live life as our most authentic selves. Would you say that you work to live or that you live to work? Like if things at work are tense, do you find yourself bringing that tension back home with you? Even if you don’t mean to, objectively speaking, do you think it affects your energy for the remainder of the day after you’ve closed your laptop? And that’s if you really ever log off. If you’re still responding to Slack pings on your phone while your dinner gets cold, you’re mentally still at work. For the longest time ever, I’ve done the former, and it’s taken years of continued self reflection and inner work to realize how damaging that can be for the soul.

Episode 3: Being a Beginner Again

Preserves is a weekly podcast series on ways we can preserve the grey matter in our brains, so that we can live life as our most authentic selves. When was the last time you were a beginner at something? It's one thing to be in a situation where you have no other choice but to be a beginner, like when your parents forced you to try out a new sport growing up or when you had to take a class in college because it was a degree requirement, like that’s different because you didn’t really choose it. So it’s another thing when you yourself choose to be a beginner at something all over again. What makes a person actively choose to not be good at something, at least to begin with? I think it’s a combination of different things, with the main ones being; reason & season.

Episode 2: Actually Flipping Through the Pages

Preserves is a weekly podcast series on ways we can preserve the grey matter in our brains, so that we can live life as our most authentic selves. When was the last time you read a book? Not an audiobook Not an e-book on your Kindle or iPad I’m talking about a physical book, the one where you actually flip through the pages

Episode 1: Why This & Why Now

Preserves is a weekly podcast series on ways we can preserve the grey matter in our brains so we can live life as our most authentic selves. Today’s episode actually takes a step back because I’ll be sharing why I’m starting this series in the first place, and it starts with a story...
