U.S. Large Size Notes We Recommend For All Price Points

Originally published 2/19/24 to YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@polarcurrency The 5th Roundtable answers this question: What large size notes would you recommend to a new paper money collector? There’s not an easy answer because price always comes into play. To account for multiple budgets we all of the notes can be purchased in a low, medium and high range. Low $100-$300, Medium $300-$700 and High over $700. These are notes that we all feel that every collector should have in their collection no matter the price or condition. They are all classic large size notes that come with a story. Guest Dennis Huff & Talking About Collecting Currency for 55 Years!

Originally published 3/17/24 to YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@polarcurrency The Currency Roundtable welcomes our first Guest Dennis Huff. Dennis Huff has been a paper money collector for 55 years. He put together an incredible, extensive, valuable collection that he sold at auction 1999. Dennis concentrated on collecting National Bank Notes - both large and small, and Error Notes. He also had an extensive type collection that included a 1918 $50 Federal Reserve Bank Note (FRBN) from St. Louis. Less than 60 have been accounted for from a minuscule printing of 4,000 banknotes. Dennis was also savvy enough to have his collection scanned before he sold. This at a time where that wasn't the easiest thing to do and he has been generous enough to share the images with us. Dennis was a early and long time member of the Society of Paper Money Collectors and contributed to multiple publications including the 10th Edition of Standard Guide to Small-Size U.S. Paper Money 1928-Date. We spent most of the time talking about what it was like collecting currency in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Things were different. We had a lot of fun and actually learned some things! It's worth staying until the end. Wait until you see some of the Error Notes! We all want to say thanks to Dennis for sharing his time. It was our honor to have him as our first guest. Ben TheCoinGeek is a Guest on the Currency Roundtable

Originally published 4/17/24 to YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@polarcurrency Ben @TheCoinGeek stops by for a visit as a Currency Roundtable guest panelist. A lot of conversation about currency and, sadly, some coin talk - but Ben is the COIN Geek and it's all good. Topics are are what's rare? What's scarce? Ontario 100 dug up some factoids about some well known large size notes and looking at survival rates. It was very interesting to find out what really is more rare but not popular. Ideas for Types for Currency Collections

Originally published 6/18/24 to YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@polarcurrency Currency Roundtable is saddened by the death of our friend Dennis Huff who was our guest on Roundtable #6 back in March (see link below to video). Dennis had been fighting a long time illness that finally took our friend and he will be missed. Watch to the end if you wish to read his obituary. Currency Roundtable #9 follows a path that Dennis took with multiple collections. This week we have new Panelist Dean from @massabesicgoldandsilver Dean's YouTube channel is primarily about coins, particularly Morgan Silver Dollars - but he's crossing over in a big way to paper currency and he has several videos on currency. That's right! Banknotes! He offers a great perspective as to what he is collecting. Dean is very well read already after taking the deep dive into currency. This month we talk about ideas of what to collect as far as "collections". From Small Size Legal Tender Notes to Large Size Gold Certificates and a lot in-between. It's a great conversation about the possibilities and cross-overs that can be in multiple collections that you put together. We talk with a Currency Collector who started at age 12 - He's now 24!

Originally published 8/28/24 to YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@polarcurrency Currency Roundtable #10 sits down with Tyler from Currency Relics who started his YouTube Channel for his currency collection when he was 14!!! Us "Old Guys" talk with Tyler knowing that he is a rare collector being as young as he is. But age is secondary to Tyler's banknote collection. You HAVE to see his collection - please check out his channel, link below. For such a young collector to be able to assemble the banknotes that he has is incredible. Tyler has posted a video update of his collection only ONCE a year for the past decade until recently he put out a mid-year update.
