The Gospel can be summed up in one staggering truth: Jesus took our place
In 2 Corinthians 5, we’re given one of the clearest pictures of what Christ accomplished on the cross: “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
This message walks through the full story of redemption. Every person has sinned. We were created in God’s image, yet we’ve all fallen short (Ecclesiastes 7:20; Romans 3:23). Sin brings judgment and separation from God (Ezekiel 18:4; Romans 6:23).
Jesus willingly stepped in as our substitute. He chose the cross. He bore our sin. He satisfied God’s justice. From the sacrifices of the Old Testament to the Lamb of God in the New Testament, Scripture points to one reality:
Jesus died in our place.
