Recycled story lines, ahoy! 7th Heaven's Episode 807, Getting To Know You, takes a previous story arc involving one of Ruthie's friends facing racism for being Muslim and repeats it. This time there is an added element of prejudice against a Muslim family for having a French surname. This all takes place within the concept of a block party for GlenOak and Kevin's newly formed Neighborhood Watch. Plus, Roxanne's new mentoring gig has some overlap with Cecelia's house being robbed. The Rev asks everyone to take on a good deed or a "project" in his sermon and everyone takes it seriously for some reason. Kevin wants to enlist Lucy and teach the community self defense. Chandler and Roxy find themselves confronted with the reality of their break up once more as they both volunteer to help at risk youth. In a convoluted and patronizing story line, Ruthie decides to make a classmate her project and Peter wants to make Ruthie his project. Originally published April 18, 2018.

CamdenCast Episode 804 - I Wasn't Expecting That!

In an overwhelmingly sexist and played out story line, Kevin gets hurt on the job when he is beat up by a woman. Simon spends the entire episode whining about how he is going to skip his last year of high school and go to college and therefore everyone should miss him or throw a party or something. Ruthie and Peter's relationship is put to the test when they need to make a model of a coal mine for a class project. Martin enters the Camdens lives and is probably the real reason that Ruthie and Peter start fighting. Originally published April 11, 2018.

Simon has the good fortune to be mentored by a Harvard grad who is also a Preacher's Kid. Peter tries to handle some kids who are bullying Ruthie and fails miserably (or succeeds because he works out some weird bargain?). Kevin gets stuck babysitting Detective Michaels granddaughter while Detective Michaels conducts the most convoluted and hilarious sting operation to ever grace television. Mary reveals her big secret to the family and the CamRents freak out even though Matt basically did the same thing and Ruthie is the only one that knows. Simon doesn't want to finish out his senior year in the traditional school setting and the Rev helps him explore his options. Roxy and Chandler break up but honestly who even cares about them? The summer was long, and apparently bad for the Camdens. Why? The big season 7 cliffhanger is resolved and Simon is wracked with guilt. Roxy and Chandler have apparently been having sex all summer, and Kevin and Lucy haven't been. Peter polishes up his snooping skills and shows why he's a match made in (seventh?) heaven for Ruthie.
