Don't Let a Little Static Ruin Your Day

Have you ever pulled clothes out of the dryer and discovered that one sock has attached itself to something it absolutely does not belong to? You pull out a towel. There's a sock. A shirt. Another sock. Then later you're walking through the house and realize you've apparently been carrying a dryer sheet on your back for twenty minutes. Static has no respect for dignity. And believe it or not, coffee has static problems too. Did you know that Coffee Grounds Can Stick Everywhere? When coffee beans are ground, friction and the breaking of the beans can create static electrical charge. That's one reason freshly ground coffee sometimes clings to the grinder, container or countertop and seems determined to make a small mess. Coffee grounds can be tiny little troublemakers. But here's what I find amusing about that. Something doesn't have to be big to become irritating. Isn't that true in life? Usually, it isn't one enormous thing that tests our patience. It's twelve little things. You can't find your keys. You drop something. The computer decides it needs an update precisely when you're trying to use it. Someone pulls out in front of you and then drives approximately seven miles an hour. And suddenly you're ready to declare the entire day ruined. But it isn't ruined. It's just static. Little irritations sticking to us. Sometimes we have to shake them off. One frustrating moment doesn't deserve ownership of the remaining twenty-three hours of your day. Make another cup of coffee. Reset. Start again. Maybe today's cup is Fearless, our darker, earthy espresso-style blend—a coffee with enough personality to remind you that you can handle a missing sock. Or a computer update. Or even that driver doing seven miles an hour. Well...Maybe two cups for that one. The point is, life gets messy. Coffee gets messy. People get messy. But we don't have to carry every irritation around with us. Brush off the static. Keep moving. And if you've been walking around all morning with a dryer sheet stuck to your clothes? Just tell everyone it's the latest fashion. Visit Cager's Coffee Hut at www.cagerscoffeehut.com, and remember to keep brewing kindness one cup at a time.
