Student talks about special guests visiting to make West a kinder campus

Shiekenya Wren talks about the recent guests who came to help West Elementary become a kinder place. Scarlett Lewis, Choose Love Movement Founded the movement in memory of her son, Jeffery Lewis, who died during the Sandy Hook shooting. Junior High Semester Testing with Principal Matt Douglas

In recent years, students who scored well in class were exempt from the cumulative semester test. This school year we switched to the alternative calendar which changed some things. The new calendar has fewer school days = fewer student-contact days (were used for review days) Admin decided not to give an exam in exchange for students attending all school days Some students do best in day-to-day work but perform poorly with cumulative tests--some may have test anxiety, time conflicts to study, etc. Sponsored by Citizens Bank and White River Now

High School Principal talks about the recent calendar changes

Stacey Lindsey, BHSC Principal, discusses the effects of the new calendar and that the school day will look different next year. Semester tests are now required for all students which take place during the week (Dec. 12-16) before Christmas Break. Thursday, Dec. 15 - Christmas pep rally @ 9:20 am The next school year, 2023-24, will have 7 class periods during the day. The school district has had a block schedule for 26 years. The Batesville School District used an alternative calendar for the 2022-23 school year. BHSC Cheerleading team's first All Girls Varsity competition

The high school's cheerleading team is competing in Hot Springs this Saturday, led by coach Allison Angel.
