Paul is willing to challenge Peter because fellowship without honesty isn’t much fellowship at all. But the same passage says they agreed to remember the poor, and the psalm sends praise beyond one people to all nations. Then the disciples ask Jesus to teach them to pray, and he gives them words about God’s name, daily bread, forgiveness, and deliverance. That keeps faith from becoming either private comfort or public performance. I need truth strong enough to confront hypocrisy, humility enough to receive correction, and mercy practical enough to remember somebody in need. Prayer pulls those things together. It reminds me who provides, who forgives, and who I’m supposed to forgive. I can’t ask for grace with clenched fists toward everybody else.
