More Than MRKH: Betty Mukherjee on Fertility, Identity & Finding Her Voice
Episode notes
At 16, Betty Mukherjee was told she had MRKH, a condition she had never heard of, which meant she had been born without a womb and only one kidney. Today, Betty is an advocate for women with MRKH and has become an important voice in talking openly about a diagnosis that many people know very little about. She shares her experience with incredible honesty, helping other women feel less alone and encouraging better conversations around fertility and womanhood.
You might know Betty from Race Across the World, but there is so much more to her story than what we saw on screen. In this episode, she takes us back to that teenage diagnosis, shares what she wishes she had been told and talks honestly about finding her voice and her own definition of womanhood. It’s an honest, reassuring and incredibly human conversation with someone who has turned a deeply personal experience into a reason to make things better for others. We absolutely loved having Betty with us, and we think you will too.
