Not Your Typical Family: Let’s Talk Family Building
Episode notes
Building a family doesn’t always follow the traditional route, and knowing where to start can feel like a minefield. For many people, having a baby means navigating fertility treatment, donor conception, surrogacy or fertility preservation, often alongside questions about NHS funding, cost and what’s actually available.
In this episode, we’re talking about the different ways families can be built when conception isn’t as straightforward as it might be, and some of the barriers people can face along the way. We also get into the bits that don’t always get talked about, from fertility and gender-affirming care to the emotional side of planning a family in a way that can feel very different from the norm.
No assumptions, no judgement, just an honest conversation about the many ways a family can begin.
