GPT-6 Reaches ChatGPT's 1.2 Billion Users, Free Tier Gets Luna

OpenAI is rolling out GPT-6 in ChatGPT's Chat tab with Intelligent UI, which lets answers include charts, graphics, buttons, forms and small interactive tools. Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users get GPT-6 Sol starting October 7, while Free and Go users get the lighter GPT-6 Luna starting October 8, and OpenAI says ChatGPT now has more than 1.2 billion weekly users. The models powering ChatGPT Work and Codex are not changing in this release. OpenAI's safety documentation treats the October GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna as High capability in cybersecurity and in biological and chemical risk under its Preparedness Framework.
