Episode notes

This is part of a year long reading of the Bible chronologically in a harmonized format.

Isaiah 30:1 - 32:20

- Isaiah warns Judah against running to Egypt for help instead of trusting God, who says that in returning and rest they will be saved and in quietness and trust is their strength.

- God waits to be gracious, promises to defeat Assyria, and looks ahead to a king who reigns in righteousness and a day when His Spirit is poured out and brings lasting peace.

Acts 20:17 - 20:38

- Paul calls the Ephesian elders to Miletus, reminds them how he served them with humility and tears, and says he is going to Jerusalem not knowing what will happen there.

- He charges them to shepherd God's flock and watch for false teachers, reminds them it is more blessed to give than to receive, and they pray and weep together as he leaves.
