2 White Girls Talk Bollywood
Season 1
by Kim Hughes & Katie Babione
In the mood for a film featuring strong women getting up to hijinks in the name of revenge? We know we are! This week, Bollywood Boys take a back seat as Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra, Dipannita Sharma, and Aditi Sharma plot to take down the man who conned them in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. But fear not, Ranveer Singh still serves up plenty of eye candy. Maneesh Sharma directs this 2011 rom-CON.
Happy Valentine's Day! What better way to celebrate than with a tour of Europe with our favorite Bollywood Boy? Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma star in this 2017 rom com about two flawed people finding love. And of course, we get some amazing songs along the way! Imtiaz Ali wrote and directed Jab Harry Met Sejal... which has nothing to do with another famous Hollywood rom com with a similar title, but we love it anyway!
This week, we're delivering not one, but TWO Hrithik Roshans! You'll fall hard for the sweet, sensitive Rohit, and then get a second chance at love with the cool, confident Raj. Ameesha Patel and Anupam Kher join our danciest Bollywood Boy in his debut film from 2000, directed by Rakesh Roshan.
Are you ready for fight scenes? Shoot outs? Motorcycle chases? Are you ready for intense and seemingly unintentional sexual chemistry between two of the sexiest Bollywood Boys ever? Well then you're ready for War! Starring Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, and Vaani Kapoor, and directed by Siddharth Anand.
In this week's episode... something happens! Karan Johar's directorial debut, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, is all about first love, tragedy, and maybe (just maybe) finding second love. Kajol, Rani Mukerji, and Shah Rukh Khan star in this 90s classic that'll have you shopping for your own "COOL" necklace!
Got your tissues ready? This week, Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan are teaming up to break our hearts in two. Think early 2000s rom com vibes, but with tragedy. What more could you want from a movie? Preity Zinta and Jaya Bachchan round out the cast in Karan Johar's Kal Ho Na Ho.
Hrithik, this one's for you! This week, we dive deep into one of the Akhtar family's greatest hits. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (or "Zindagi", as we call it) stars two of our favorite Bollywood Boys, Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar. Abhay Deol rounds out the Three Musketeers, Katrina Kaif teaches us how to live, and Kalki Koechlin stirs up the drama. Tomatoes are thrown, pranks are played, and a designer bag gets a starring role-- it's a romp across Spain you won't forget!
In their first official episode, Katie and Kim recap the plot of Farah Khan's masterpiece, Om Shanti Om! You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll feel the thrill of Shah Rukh Khan.
New listeners start here! Hosts Katie Babione and Kim Hughes introduce themselves and talk about their favorite films, the structure of the podcast, and why they firmly believe that though Bollywood doesn't need us, we need Bollywood.
This week we're covering the second half of the Netflix series Ba***ds of Bollywood. And even though we know now, we won't be revealing the letters behind those asterisks, because the twist is the best part of the season! We have to be real with you, dear listeners-- this one wasn't for us. And for the first time in a long time, maybe ever, we seem to totally disagree with most of the audience and critics! So please don't hate us for our harsh take, and know that we're keeping an open mind about season 2, whenever it may come. Like what you're hearing?
