Day 12: Loving Yourself Single & in a Relationship with Bethany Nicole

For this Monday's episode I wanted to discuss the difference between loving yourself when you're single and loving yourself in a relationship because there is a difference. I sat down with relationship expert Bethany Nicole Barton and we discussed the importance of self-love in singlehood, the societal pressure to be in a relationship, our personal experiences and beliefs about relationships, understanding and communicating personal boundaries, and the importance of happiness and compatibility in relationships. Bethany emphasized the necessity of taking time to understand oneself, finding a compatible partner who supports growth and transformation, and maintaining personal happiness and individuality within a relationship. If you feel you often sacrifice yourself in relationships, want to prevent yourself from settling, or want to feel empowered as a single person or a relationship person, this episode is for you.

Day 11: Speaking Up + Utilizing Your Voice

Esplicito
Whether you're too afraid to speak up or you often contribute to conversation, but say nothing of value or don't ever share your authentic thoughts and feelings this episode is for you. I start the episode explaining the fear, why we have it, and what needs to happen in order to overcome it. I then walk you through 5 tactics that will help you begin utilizing your voice in everyday conversation in an effort to cultivate more self love. The episode ends with motivation and reasons that you are perfectly capable of accomplishing this.

Day 10: Standing Up for Yourself

Esplicito
Standing up for yourself is one of the most important skills you can learn to improve yourself love. If you often find yourself being afraid standing up for yourself will cause aggression or drama or you're afraid of confrontation I walk you all the through overcoming that fear so you can feel capable of advocating for yourself. I provide tips on how to execute this in a very doable way as well as motivation to get this done. If you feel you do not advocate yourself as much as you should this episode is for you.

Day 9: Self Talk

Esplicito
For a very saturated topic I didn't want to just talk to you guys about the importance and how different your life would be if you just talked nicely to yourself. Even though that's true, we've all heard that advice and it still doesn't make you talk any nice to yourself when bad shit inevitably pops up in your life. Today, I wanted to talk to you about how I do not believe in positive self talk. I believe in something different, more realistic, easier to actually do, easier to believe in and overall will cause you to begin speaking in a way to yourself that makes you feel confident and like you love yourself. If your mind is tuned into the negative radio frequency most of the time and you would like to change to the self love radio frequency this episode is for you.

Day 8: Overcome the Opinions of Others

Esplicito
I believe that the opinions of other people play a really big role in our ability to love ourselves. A big reason for that being that we are constantly given these ideas of what's right and wrong like we discussed in episode 6 and that is how we determine whether or not we're worthy of our own self love. On this episode I discuss the three areas we typically internalize people's opinions (family, friends, and significant others), why that is and how to begin to put their opinions lower on the totem pole than our own opinion. If you are constantly basing your self worth on the opinions of other people and haven't found a way to "just not care" like everyone tells you to, this episode is for you.

Day 7: How to Validate Yourself

Esplicito
One of the biggest and most important lessons in my personal self love journey was learning how to validate myself internally and not needing to rely on external results in order to feel genuine validity. I never resonated with anything I read or listened to because I needed to learn how to do it for myself specifically. This episode is meant to inspire ideas of how you can validate yourself in your own way through tips of how I have learned to validate myself in several circumstances throughout my life naturally and authentically. I discuss the steps that I needed to take in order to learn to love myself and real life examples of what validating myself looks like. If you are someone who often seeks their self worth and good enoughness from outside sources this episode is for you.

Day 6: Your Thoughts Aren't Yours

Esplicito
On this episode of the 28 Days of Self love we are bringing awareness to all the areas in every corner of our life that we have created mindsets, perceptions, and thoughts were not created from our own minds but from what we have been exposed to. When we understand that our thoughts are not ours it is easier to decide what to do with the ideas we have been given in our life and decide what we would like to use to our benefit and what we would like to let go of since it was never ours to begin with. If you struggle with your place in the world and feeling like you can't fit in, aren't good enough, or never meet the image of yourself you have created in your mind this episode is for you.

Day 5: Body Image with Heather Gale

Esplicito
To honor our typical Monday release during the 28 Days of Self Love, Sarah and Heather engaged in a conversation about the significance of body image and the role of somatics in healing. They discussed the impact of external messages on body image and self-worth. They also explored the role of exercise and healthy eating in maintaining a positive body image. Heather and Sarah discussed the importance of self-worth and body image, and how external appearance does not determine self-worth. They also explored the complexities of body image issues, the importance of self-esteem and how to improve your confidence when it comes to body image. If you are someone who struggles with loving themselves because they don't like what their physical appearance is yet this episode is for you.

Day 4: Acceptance & Surrender

Esplicito
I promise this episode will not be butterflies and rainbows and telling you how you just need to accept who you are as you are. I understand more than anyone else that you want to continue to become a better version of yourself. There is this subconscious idea that if we accept who we are that we no longer will be working on ourselves and that is not true. We need acceptance and surrender in order to authentically love ourselves. We will not authentically love ourselves when we reach this image we have created in our head. Listen to this episode to find out what will get us closer to unconditional self love.

Day 3: Defining Who You Are

Esplicito
In order to authentically love yourself you need to know who you love. But knowing who you are can feel like such a daunting concept to dig through. It can feel overwhelming and confusing. This episode is not going to help you define who you are, but feel at ease doing it. Sarah finishes the episode solidifying you knowing of who you are by connecting it back to self love.
