Totum Realty Advisors (Kevin Riley, CCIM, SIOR, Michael Castle, Paige Myers) had the pleasure to podcast this month with Jeremy Waldrup - President and CEO of Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership!Five statistics that may shock you:1.) Downtown is home to just over 400 retail, restaurant and service businesses and has welcomed 10 new businesses in 2023, and over 50 new businesses since pandemic lockdown restrictions have ended, indicating a growing and resilient small business ecosystem.2.) Workers are steadily returning to Downtown, with almost 20% more workers in Downtown that there were in May of 2022, averaging 90,000 people a day in the Triangle, 35% of pre-pandemic but continuing to build.3.) Restaurants in Downtown are thriving and, in some cases, surpassing pre-pandemic numbers, and these number are expected to rise this summer, with over 50 restaurants offering outdoor dining, and a packed schedule of festivals expecting to bring in hundreds of thousands of visitors to Downtown throughout the season.4.) The residential population of Downtown has grown by 20% since 2020, showing that the Triangle is continuing to evolved as a mixed-use neighborhood.5.) Downtown is home to just over 400 retail, restaurant and service businesses and has welcomed 10 new businesses in 2023, and over 50 new businesses since pandemic lockdown restrictions have ended, indicating a growing and resilient small business ecosystem.Jeremy Waldrup said it best " if you want transformation Downtown, you need to be a part of it yourself.
