We are commonly queried on engagement structures for health practitioners. The risks/benefits of engaging health practitioners do need to be discussed with your lawyer. We commonly see employment, independent contractor and service provider engagements. Two key recent decisions by the High Court have affirmed the pre-eminence of a written (and signed) contract and its terms when in characterising the engagement type and the engagement relationship under the law.
