Minnesota Weather March 3 Evening - 28° Above Normal
Good evening. Minnesota. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you might do a double-take. We're sitting at 43 degrees right now under clear skies. That's roughly 28 degrees warmer than we'd expect for early March. Winter is officially loosening its grip, folks. In the next 24 hours. Here's the breakdown for today. The Twin Cities climbs to 56 degrees this afternoon under mostly sunny skies. Head north and things cool off a bit. Northern Minnesota sees partly sunny skies with a high near 46 degrees. Down in Southern Minnesota, you'll hit 53 degrees, but keep your wits about you. Widespread fog is rolling in before 9 A.M., so give yourself extra time on the roads. Tonight, the story shifts to visibility. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for northwest and west central Minnesota until 8 A.M. Wednesday. You could see visibility drop to a quarter mile or less. Elsewhere, lows settle into the lower 30s. Wednesday brings more of this early spring tease. The Twin Cities hits 56 degrees again. Northern Minnesota reaches 46 degrees. Southern Minnesota climbs to 53 degrees with that fog finally clearing by mid-morning. The pattern flips Thursday night. Rain moves in after midnight. Friday looks wet with rain showers across the state. Southern Minnesota might even hear a rumble of thunder. Some areas could see a half-inch or more. The weekend? Absolutely gorgeous. Saturday brings sunshine with highs near 50. Sunday and Monday, we're talking upper 50s to low 60s. That's 28 degrees to 28 degrees above normal. Tonight's full moon will be shining through partly cloudy skies. A perfect way to end a mild March day. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves.
