I Developed an Eating Disorder Because of Celiac Disease

Today, I am discussing a topic that has been very hard for me to talk about in the past and present: the connection between Celiac Disease and Disordered Eating/Body Dysmorphia. I wanted to discuss this in detail because I don't believe doctors or others in the Celiac world discuss the connection between these two enough or at all. The overall message I want you to take away from this podcast is that you're not alone and you're not crazy. I hear you and feel your pain when it comes to accepting your body when it's constantly fighting against you. It's something that takes time. Time to truly learn to love your body when you can't even think of why you would want to appreciate it when it consistently makes you sick. The first step is acknowledging that you have a fear of food. The second step is learning to find foods that make you feel good. To grow a collection of foods you can eat freely and feel great after eating! And the third step is learning to love food again and eat intuitively. Once you find those foods that sit well with your body and don't cause you pain, it will come naturally. Accept the body God gave you. Don't punish it. You only get one body in this entire lifetime. Learn to love it by fueling it with foods that make you feel good. I promise you that you WILL overcome this hurdle. In this episode, I will discuss: What symptoms led me to develop disordered eating/body dysmorphia A company that provides Nutrionists COVERED BY INSURANCE (this is something I have been so excited to share with you guys) A discussion of my mental health during these times What helped me to stop hyperfixating on food The importance of eating intuitively & how skipping meals can make your symptoms worse In every episode, I provide valuable resources to make living gluten-free or with Celiac Disease/an autoimmune disease something you no longer think about daily. Cross Contamination Can Occur in Your Household?

In this episode, learn all things about cross-contamination! After being cross-contaminated (CC) many times over the past 6 years, I have nearly mastered how to keep myself safe. Because, let's be honest, I have significant PTSD from getting sick and almost having to go to the hospital after. Cross-contamination doesn't only happen outside of your home or in a restaurant. For me, cross-contamination can happen right in my household because I live with a family that eats gluten. It can also occur at places out of your control, like factories where goods are processed. Listen to today's episode to learn how to identify areas of high CC in your household and ways to avoid CC when living with people who eat gluten. In addition, I will also discuss products that are highly cross-contaminated (some may surprise you)! In this episode, I will cover: Highly cross-contaminated kitchenware Kitchenware that you should purchase you own of How to set up your kitchen when you live with people who eat gluten Areas of CC in your refrigerator/pantry Places to buy affordable kitchenware Alternatives to buying new kitchenware A coupon code for Nuzest (Digestive Support Protein Powder) Food products that are highly cross-contaminated in factories I provide you with valuable resources to make living gluten-free or with Celiac Disease/an autoimmune disease something you no longer think about daily.
