Together, he and Coach O rebuilt a losing culture and brought Eldorado baseball back to the playoffs for the first time in years. Through the grind, Andy became a legend within the Eldorado baseball program — a symbol of leadership, resilience, and loyalty. He continues to remember where he came from and gives back to the place he’ll always call home — Eldorado’s diamond.

While she may come across as tough, she’s working on breaking out of her shy shell. Fierce in competition yet laid back in everyday life, Noelani connects easily with almost everyone she meets.

Gio also opens up about the mental battles he’s faced, finding inspiration in his favorite player who’s walked a similar path. Gio’s rise is rooted in his dedication to health. By committing to his fitness and shedding weight, he unlocked new levels of skill and performance on the field. That resilience not only fueled his progression but also earned him a spot representing Team USA, following his success with his club team, GBG. His story is one of discipline, growth, and proving what’s possible when you invest in yourself. While baseball is his passion, his faith fuels his life. Faith has presented Gio a reason to keep growing on and off the field. Gio is dead set on his praise to God for allowing him to continue to move forward in seeking to be the best follower of Christ he can be.

Episode 28 - Gunner Cortez

Pressure makes diamonds, and Gunner is proof of that. After fighting for everything, he made the difficult choice to move to Virgin Valley and start over. That move became the turning point in his journey. While Gunner had already proven himself on the wrestling mat, it was his football career that truly began to take off. In Mesquite, he earned the QB1 job and went on to finish his high school career as a 2x All-Conference quarterback, leading Virgin Valley to two playoff appearances. On the mat, he built an even greater legacy: 3x State Champion and 3x Regional Champion (with Covid stripping the chance to be a 4-timer). Gunner chose to pursue football at the next level, and today, he’s playing Division I football at Utah Tech. A true small-town hero, Gunner continues to inspire—proving that with grit and belief, it can be done.

Episode 26 - Darryl 'Coach Tootle' Tootle

Coach Tootle comes from the Las Vegas Valley, where he spent his formative years on the gridiron. He made his mark at Shadow Ridge High School, and his love for football has fueled a passion that ensured he never truly left the game. Coach Tootle stepped into coaching early in his career—some might even say with plenty of tread still left on his tires. But the connection he felt in reaching young men confirmed he had made the right choice to hang up his cleats and pick up a clipboard. Over time, he built a strong resume, gaining experience in nearly every phase of the game. From position coach to coordinator on both sides of the ball, and even teaching himself how to coach linemen, Tootle worked his way up the coaching ladder with relentless dedication. Watching Coach Tootle turn this program around has been remarkable. He has led the change by embodying the very standards he expects from his players. Even in the toughest coaching situations, Tootle never flinched—he kept pushing his young men forward. Now, as Head Coach at Eldorado, he is committed to continued growth, refusing to settle for contentment. With charisma, a relentless pursuit of perfection, and the ability to speak life into his program, Tootle has laid the foundation for a true winning culture.

Episode 25 - Carlos 'Los' Hernandez

Carlos, better known as Los, began his athletic journey deeply invested in club baseball. When Covid hit, he entered high school but was prevented from starting his freshman year at Eldorado High as a baseball player. It wasn’t until his sophomore year that Los officially began his high school baseball career and started carving his path. During his time with the Eldorado baseball program, Los had to pave a path that hadn’t been created before—the Division I route. Along the way, he built an impressive resume: 3x All-State, 3x All-Conference, 2x Player of the Year Runner-Up, retired number 0, and named Most Valuable Player every season he played. (In fact, the MVP award at Eldorado now carries his name.) While his dominance on the field is undeniable, Los also opens up about the battles he faced off the field. In the end, Carlos signed to play at Phoenix College. While his dream of continuing in the game remains, his sights are now set on pursuing a professional career in Mexico. His journey proves that not every path is smooth sailing—but through grit and perseverance, Los never quit. Because of that, his name will forever hang on the fence at Eldorado, and his number will never be worn again.

Episode 24 - Adolfo 'One Intro' Medina

Adolfo, also known as One Intro, turned to art as an outlet for life. A man of Faith, a husband, a father and a man from North Las Vegas with a dream began with pictures and writing soon evolved into deeper expressions of morals, eventually leading him to the ultimate gateway of tattooing. Through his craft, Intro found not only a voice but a way to share his story with the world. While wrestling with the idea of tattooing, Adolfo continued to deepen his love for art. Job after job, he sharpened his skills until one opportunity changed everything—he was given tattoo equipment. That gift sparked the shift that would launch his career as a business owner. Starting out as an apprentice and working toward his license, Intro quickly built such a loyal clientele that he was eventually able to purchase the very shop where he began. After purchasing the shop, Intro rebranded and began running the business on his own terms. In time, he committed fully to his artist name, building a brand around One Intro. With the support of his wife, he continues to grow his vision and build the empire they are creating together.

Episode 23 - Tylene 'Ty' Tran

Gold Rush’s 5-foot heavyweight champ of the world, Tylene Tran, joins the Caution Stalling Podcast. Tylene shares how she traded the cheer platform for the wrestling mat during Covid, a move inspired by watching her brother’s practices. What started as curiosity quickly turned into passion, as the pandemic opened the door for her to step into the sport and change her life forever. Tylene reflects on the life lessons wrestling has given her, from coaching the Little Miners to working with the Discovery 1 class. Though coaching brought challenges, it also deepened her understanding of the sport by forcing her to teach it. Beyond giving back, wrestling has reshaped her mindset—teaching her how to handle pressure and grow stronger mentally. With her successes, Tylene has also grown in her faith, embracing patience and trusting the long game of her career. She stays focused on her potential while leaning on the coaches who always have her back in the corner. Tylene shares deep gratitude for Gold Rush—the coaching staff, the culture, and her teammates—for shaping her journey. Through her words, it’s clear just how important the Gold Rush family is to one of Nevada’s top women wrestlers. Her bond with the program is unbreakable, and she hopes to one day return to coach the next generation of girls in the very place she calls home.
