Uncanny Treks: Bob's Worst TV of 2025

Somebody has to say it. Bob names the worst TV of 2025 — the disappointments, the disasters, and the shows that wasted everybody's time — while Matt alternates between nodding along and mounting doomed defenses of his guilty pleasures. It's the most wonderful time of the year for schadenfreude, with clips, rants, and at least one take that will age badly. Come for the takedowns, stay for the one pick they actually agree on.

Uncanny Treks: Bob's Top TV of 2025

Peak TV, ranked — and nobody agrees on anything. Bob counts down his top television of 2025 while Matt fact-checks, second-guesses, and campaigns for the shows Bob missed or underrated. They dig into what made the year's best worth the watch, where the consensus picks landed, and which deep cuts deserve your queue. Spoilers ahead — obviously. Bring your own list and fight them.

Uncanny Treks: Bob's Top Films of 2025

Bob saw everything, and he's got opinions. The annual year-end tradition continues as Bob unveils his top films of 2025, with Matt playing cross-examiner (and lobbyist for his own favorites). They debate what counts as a great movie year, relitigate at least one controversial pick, and close with the snubs. Grab the list, check it twice — then argue about it with them.

Uncanny Treks: Fantastic Four Epic Collection Vol. 2 (1963, Comic)

Lee and Kirby run the gauntlet. Bob and Matt dive into Fantastic Four #19-32 (plus two annuals): the Thing vs. the Hulk, Sub-Mariner's play for Sue, a tangle with the X-Men, Nick Fury's first CIA outing against the Hate-Monger, and Doctor Doom's origin in Annual #2. Sixteen issues of pure Silver Age invention, and the hosts are eating it up. Plus: Molecule Man's deeply unsettling face. Excelsior!

Uncanny Treks: Ultimates Omniversal Volume 2: Civil War II (2016, Comic)

Even cosmic fixers get dragged into event comics. Bob and Matt close out the first Ultimates series with issues #7-12, as Ewing steers Black Panther's team through Civil War II and into the revelation that Eternity itself is chained. They debate whether the event tie-in helps or hurts, savor the high-concept payoffs, and set the stage for Ultimates 2. Big ideas, bigger cliffhanger.

Uncanny Treks: Ultimates Omniversal Volume 1: Start with the Impossible (2016, Comic)

Find the problem. Fix the problem. Start with the impossible. Bob and Matt launch into Ewing's Ultimates with the first six issues: Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Ms. America, Spectrum, and Blue Marvel taking on the threats too big for anyone else — starting with Galactus himself. They geek out over the Lifebringer twist, Kenneth Rocafort's cosmic visuals, and the most ambitious team book Marvel's published in years. The Ultimates don't do small.

Uncanny Treks: Avengers World vs. The Mighty Avengers (Debate)

It's a showdown: Spencer vs. Ewing. Bob and Matt stage a formal debate — which 2014 Avengers spinoff did it better, Nick Spencer's globe-trotting Avengers World or Al Ewing's street-level Mighty Avengers? Opening statements, rebuttals, and at least one filibuster about what an Avengers book is even for. Matt came with notes; Bob came with opinions. Place your bets.

Uncanny Treks: Captain America & the Mighty Avengers (2015, Comic)

Sam Wilson's got the shield — and the Mighty Avengers have a new boss. Bob and Matt follow Ewing into Captain America and the Mighty Avengers, the nine-issue continuation spinning out of AXIS with an inverted Cap and a team questioning everything. They dig into Ewing's take on Sam, the Luke Ross art, and how the book kept the Mighty mission alive through Marvel's event churn. Same mission, new complications.

Uncanny Treks: Mighty Avengers Pt. 2 (2013, Comic)

Four issues left, no wasted motion. Bob and Matt wrap Ewing's Mighty Avengers with the final four issues of the fourteen-issue run, as the team's street-level mission collides with bigger Marvel Universe machinery. They celebrate the payoffs, mourn what got cut short, and argue about where this ranks in the Ewing canon. Short run, long shadow. Next: Sam Wilson takes the shield.

Uncanny Treks: Mighty Avengers Pt. 1 (2013, Comic)

Luke Cage assembles — the street-level Avengers. Bob and Matt kick off Al Ewing's Mighty Avengers with the first ten issues: a team of Blue Marvel, Spectrum, She-Hulk, Superior Spider-Man, and more, protecting the little guy while the main Avengers are off in space. They dig into Ewing's big-hearted mission statement, the Infinity tie-ins, and the book's underdog charm. The Mighty Avengers are here to help — whether the Marvel Universe notices or not.
