What good is learning something if it never changes anything?

There are stacks of books on my bedroom floor.

Leadership. Psychology. Biography. Philosophy. Business. Travel. Fiction. The Bible. Books I'm reading, books I'm going to read, and books that haven't quite made it onto the shelf yet.

Some people are bookworms who devour books. Others are "book dragons" who collect them.

Apparently, I'm a little bit of both.

But those stacks represent something bigger to me: there is always more to learn.

Books give us an extraordinary opportunity to borrow someone else's experience. Someone can spend years learning a lesson, make countless mistakes along the way, write down what they discovered, and give us an opportunity to learn from it without making every mistake ourselves.
