Episode notes
Elizabeth Stewart, a Class A professional with the LPGA and PGA of Canada and head coach of the University of Alberta Pandas women’s golf team, shared how growing up with soccer and volleyball shaped her competitive spirit, leadership, and appreciation for strong team environments. She discussed beginning golf at 17 following a shoulder injury and the dedication required to develop from an inexperienced player into an accomplished collegiate golfer and golf professional. Stewart explained why parents and coaches should support young athletes without adding unnecessary pressure while helping them embrace failure, remain curious, and separate their identity from their results. She reflected on her work as a coach and instructor, where she focuses on creating a sense of belonging, growing opportunities for women, and helping young players pursue excellence while discovering their place in golf.
