The 17 year old rising gun and current Australian Champion Michael "Jiu Jitsu kid" Galea is my 13th guest on my, "At the bar with Yo Adrian podcast." We will discuss the fast rising sport of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu amongst young kids and adults. As a regular competer and part time employed instructor he will be able to give us an in-depth look at this sport as well as speak as his aspirations and dream to oneday represent Australia in the UFC and emulate Richie Vas another Matraville/ Maroubra local did. He will be one of three young guns I will be speaking to in their chosen sports over the next three podcasts including the youngest to ever go Professional in Australia's proud boxing history recently highlighted in Sydney's Daily Telegraph, 15 year old and currently 3-0 record Benji Birchell . As a podcaster, a father, husband and friend I am very passionate about mental health issues and if this podcast can potentially save one life I have done my job because I honestly believe the questions I intend to ask this very experienced trained counsellor will resonate and may help someone out there which needs this life saving advice. We discuss his incredible boxing journey from his early amateur days to his move to the pros and trainer. We also have a deep and meaningful discussion about his own mental health struggles as well as how he now helps people who struggle with addictions and mental health disorders. This podcast is a must see for any boxing enthusiasts or anyone struggling with his or her mental health. This podcast was definitely one of my favourites to do and its easy to see why when you have a guy as genuine, empathetic and honest as David Birchell. A champion in and out of the ring.
