Gambling on Alpha's

There is a whole slew of Early access games coming out. Subnautica 2 is on the horizon, Thick as Thieves is releasing for $5 dollars, even a classic style turn based game like Heroes of Might and Magic has dropped into early access, but what is the cost to the consumer when we are now spending money to test and improve these games, specially when there is no guarantee of their full release.
