Hello fellow Withstanders! So thankful you could join us for our latest episode. During the episode, we cover our usual 'on this day' and 'latest headlines' segments and we continue our Bible reading through the book of Psalms and the Acts of the Apostles. We'll also take a look at the uptick in narrative around dismantling the patriarchy and internalised misogyny in the aftermath of Donald Trump's election victory. G'day fellow Withstanders, Thank you for joining us for our latest Withstand Podcast. Well, well, well. (or as I often say, well – thrice). What a week, eh?! Trump has painted the nation of America red and while he will soon be elected the 47th President of the United States, what shall we say about each of the candidates who ran for President this year? What shall we say about their character? We take a look at how character is viewed through both a Christian and a secular lens and we'll stress-test these attributes against both candidates, plus Hollywood Actor Neal McDonough and Hollywood (Adjacent) Actor, Director and Writer, Ricky Gervais. We then continue our Bible reading through the Book of Psalms and The Acts of the Apostles and finish up with a prayer that God would purify our own character. It’s all well and good for me to talk about the character of others, but it’s my own character that needs purifying by the day – actually, by the hour if I’m honest! Hey guys. How are you all holding up? I hope you’re all doing okay, especially for our listeners who are awaiting the results of the US Election. We're well and truly in Hyperbolic Headline season, can you feel it? In our latest episode, we talk through a handful of recent headlines that have been written to keep the readers (ie you and me) in a perpetual state of fear and/or anxiety. What if we were to re-write them, based on what we know to be true from the pages of our Holy Bible? We continue our Bible reading through the Book of Psalms and The Acts of the Apostles, ending with a reflection on shattering fear with truth. G'day fellow Withstanders! Can you believe we’re already in November?! In our latest episode, we continue our Bible reading through the book of Psalms and the Acts of the Apostles, I apologise for being more salt than light in my speech during our Halloween episode and we end with a reflection from Charles Stanley on listening more than speaking, when we come before the Throne of Grace. Hello fellow Withstanders, thank you for joining us for our latest Withstand Podcast. I hope you’re all coping okay with all that's happening locally and globally and you’re feeling God’s presence in the lighter moments as well as the tougher times. Today, we take a closer look at both Halloween and All Saints' Day (both of which we won't be celebrating) and continue our Bible reading through the book of Psalms (Psalm 34) and the Acts of the Apostles (Chapter 11). We round out the show with a quick reflection on the Biblical principles we should reflect on before deciding whether or not to participate in Halloween – whether in part or in full. May today's episode be a blessing to you. CONTACT US: withstandpod@gmail.com Insta - @withstandpod God bless you, guys.
Hello fellow Withstanders! Thank you for joining us for our latest Withstand Podcast on this Friday the 25th of October. I’m so glad you could join us and I hope you had a good week. The world is in a pretty dark place right now, so we pray that you felt moments of God-given joy and felt His presence if you’re also going through an especially dark time yourself at the moment. In our latest episode, we look at some of the latest headlines and take a closer look at the growing list of celebrities who are sadly, aligning themselves with a US political party that holds tightly to anti-Judeo-Christian values. There's some eye-opening names on there. We continue our Bible reading (Psalm 33 and Acts 10) and end in a prayerful reflection on allowing God's Word to define our lives - not celebrities - but we're guessing you already know that :) May this episode be a blessing you guys... G'day and God bless, guys. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. At Withstand, we continue to think of and pray for all of those caught up in the Middle Eastern conflict. We pray for our brothers and sisters throughout the region, we pray for Israel and for peace in Jerusalem and beyond and we pray fervently for the release of all hostages, who remain in the clutches of evil ones at this time. We pray too for our American brothers and sisters, so many of whom are continuing to process the aftermath of both Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene. We lift them all up in Jesus' glorious name today. Today, we’ll continue our Bible reading through the book of Psalms and the Acts of the Apostles. We’ll take a super quick look at the latest headlines and then I’ll walk you through some of the things I’ve learnt about Mass Formation Psychosis and tell you about an interesting observation that Dr Robert Malone made about this phenomenon. For those who haven’t heard of him, Dr Malone is a courageous doctor who refused to toe the line during the recent p*ndemic. Hey friends! Fellow awake Christians and awake non-believers alike are acutely aware that we’re in the midst of unprecedented upheaval. It’s hard to ignore the signs unfolding around us. The sands are shifting and for those of us who are believers, we have one foot on the shore and one foot pointed toward the Heavens, awaiting the imminent return of Jesus Christ – which is a surreal feeling – is anyone else in the same boat? Sometimes the push and pull of what’s here and now vs what’s to come is enough to give me vertigo. And what of awake non-believers? They too feel the shift – but if they don’t know Jesus, they cannot possibly know what’s to come. It’s a crazy, crazy time. Today, we’ll take a quick look at the latest headlines, I’ll unpack a couple of comments made on a recent reel we posted, lamenting the rise in popular female artists using their platform to promote the murder of the unborn and we’ll finish with a reflection and prayer about why every life matters to God.
