G'day fellow Withstanders,

I don’t know about you but since a certain pandemic took place four years ago, whenever I hear the authorities say that they’re doing this or that for our protection, I get a little suspicious…I look a little like the side-eye emoji I’ve used with sheer abandon in recent years.

Especially when I believe there are people and situations that desperately need actual protection from harm. We’ll take a look at some of the most recent headlines from around the globe and do a slightly deeper dive into a couple of ways Australia and America are, in my view, creating problems that don’t need solutions, thereby misusing the true definition of ‘protection’.
