A culture built on self-sufficiency tells us to rely on our own strength, but Jesus begins the Beatitudes with a very different invitation: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” As we begin this series through the Beatitudes, we explore what it means to live with a deep awareness of our need for Christ, staying connected to the true source of life, power, and purpose. The more we recognize our dependence on Him, the more His kingdom is able to flow through us.
