Episode notes
Passages: John 9:1-41; John 10:1-21
Jesus and his disciples pass a man blind from birth, and after healing him with clay and the pool of Siloam, the healing itself becomes more controversial than the blindness ever was, as the Pharisees interrogate the man, then his parents, then throw him out of the synagogue rather than believe what happened in front of them. Jesus finds the man afterward and tells the Pharisees listening nearby that he is the good shepherd who lays down his life for the sheep — a shepherd his sheep actually know by voice, unlike a hired hand who runs at the first sign of danger.
We are in a Luke-John Harmony. Today's episode covers: John 9:1-41; John 10:1-21 (The Man Born Blind; The Good Shepherd).
