Episode notes

Mark 7:1–8:30.

The Pharisees have a complaint about unwashed hands, and Jesus has a much bigger one about what actually makes a person unclean. Then he crosses into foreign territory, where a mother's persistence wins a miracle for her daughter, and a deaf man hears his own voice for the first time. A second crowd is fed, a sign is refused, and at Caesarea Philippi, Jesus finally asks his disciples the question that's been building since chapter one: who do you say that I am?

We are in a Mark-John Harmony. Today's episode covers: Mark 7:1–8:30 (traditions of the elders, the Syrophenician woman, healing a deaf man, feeding the four thousand, the Pharisees' demand for a sign, healing a blind man at Bethsaida, and Peter's confession at Caesarea Philippi).
