Episode notes

Bonus: Saint Francis and the Animals. A companion to today's Saint Francis episode, with the animal stories we did not have room for: the sermon to the birds near Bevagna, worms carried off the road, rescued lambs, a singing cicada, the ox and donkey at the Greccio nativity scene of 1223, and the wolf of Gubbio, told honestly as beloved tradition from the Little Flowers. We close with the Canticle of the Creatures, composed by a nearly blind Francis in a mouse-ridden hut at San Damiano. His feast is October 4, when many parishes bless animals. Not sentimentality, but the conviction that every creature comes from one Father. If this story meant something to you, share the episode with a friend. Rosary Donations We welcome donations of old, broken, damaged, or extra rosaries. Rather than letting a rosary sit forgotten in a drawer, we’d be honored to give it a new purpose. Rosaries may be restored, preserved, or passed along to someone who can use one. Please mail rosary donations to: Attn: Rob R. PO Box 543 Higley, Arizona 85236
