Season 4

Wreck-It Ralph (2012): Disney BlockBuster Is Gonna Wreck Us!

Wreck-It Ralph has often been described as Toy Story for the videogame age and that certainly seems to be an apt description when viewing this 2012 Disney movie. Featuring John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman and Jane Lynch, this takes us into the world of an arcade game villain feeling like he needs something more from his life. Whilst his fellow villains urge him to stay in his lane, Ralph finds himself breaking free of the confines of his game and role and thrust into new and unfamiliar territory. Season 3

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997): Anal-Lotion More Like

Whilst the original Mortal Kombat movie might be bad, it does have a certain degree of cheesy, nostalgic charm baked into it. Can the same be said, however, for the 1997 sequel; "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation"? Visit our website at www.vgmovie.co.uk Visit our Wiki of Videogame Adaptations at www.vgmp.fandom.com

Silent Hill (2006): Sean Bean Doesn't Die, A Crime Against Humanity

Jamie and Rory review one of the best videogame adaptations ever made. Christoph Gans' 2006 movie remains one of the only movies to ever creep out Jamie! So does it hold up in 2024? Let's find out! It Came From the Desert (2017): Garbage Amiga Cash-Grab That Goes Down Like River Phoenix

This classic retro videogame got the movie adaptation treatment in 2017 and fully embraces its b-movie style, based on the classic Commodore Amiga game. Jamie and Rory sat down to talk about the film and found a surprise when they did so. Visit our website at www.vgmovie.co.uk Visit our Wiki of Videogame Adaptations at www.vgmp.fandom.com

Fatal Frame (2014): Intense Coming-of-Age Story, With A Drowned Girl

Based on the popular horror franchise known as Fatal Frame (also known as Project Zero in some territories), this is one of the better movies we have reviewed on VGMP. A simple little horror movie, the simplicity is the key strength of Fatal Frame. Visit our website at www.vgmovie.co.uk Visit our Wiki of Videogame Adaptations at www.vgmp.fandom.com

Joysticks (1983): Dirty 80's College Humour With A Sweaty Fat Guy

An odd entry in the VGMP canon this week; from 1983, Joysticks asks the question "what if Porky's but in an arcade?" This 80s sex comedy features a group of Pac-Man addicts, some hapless nerds who just want to play their games in peace and, of course, parents gripped by a "think about the children" panic. The question however, is does any of it coalesce into a watchable movie? Listen to find out! Visit our website at www.vgmovie.co.uk Visit our Wiki of Videogame Adaptations at www.vgmp.fandom.com

Ace Attorney / Phoenix Wright (2012): OBJECTION! Takashi Miike Delivers in Live Action

Infamous Japanese director Takashi Miike takes a crack at adapting the popular Capcom franchise "Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright" to the big screen. Blending live action filmmaking with the bombastic characters usually found in Japanese anime, the result is certainly interesting to say the least. But does it make for a good movie? Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever (2002): He's Eckstra Tough, She's Sever-ely Tough...

Today we're bringing you Ballistic: Ecks Vs Sever, a unique film in that the movie and videogame version were both in development at the same time, but the movie ended up being radically different from the eventual Gameboy Advance release... Gamebox 1.0 (2004): Cops Don't Even Eat Donuts Around Here

January is well known as somewhat of a graveyard month when it comes to movie releases and in keeping with that tradition we're re-releasing our episode on Gamebox 1.0, one of the worst movies we have ever reviewed on the show. Nate Richert (Sabrina The Teenage Witch) stars as a videogame tester with a troubled past who is enlisted to test a brand new gaming console that can tap into the actual memories of the player. Tekken: Blood Vengeance (2011): Naked Man Watches Girls Stalk Him While Showering With A Soldier

From the VGMP vault comes this classic episode from a few years ago, the first Tekken property that we reviewed on the show! This CGI animated movie is absolutely crazy, at least to someone not familiar with the popular Playstation 1v1 fighter, though if it would be any different for fans of the series, we're not so sure...
