Episode notes

There are many things displacement does to war victims. First, they become detached from their ancestral homes and lose most of their belongings. Then, they become strangers in a new land where they depend on the goodwill of others to survive. Sometimes, they are killed in the process of escaping the danger that lurks in their communities. Sometimes, they are accused of being dangerous and detained without evidence. Sometimes, families become separated, loved ones go missing, and the trauma lives on indefinitely.

In this episode, we look at the story of Aisha Umar and her kind, trustworthy husband, Umar Mustapha, who suddenly went missing about seven years ago while they were IDPs in Adamawa, Northeast Nigeria.
