Episode notes

Cameras in Airbnbs.

Don't creep out your airbnb guests. How to strategically use cameras to add security to your vacation rental, without being a creep.

Highlights:

  • Camera and video doorbells, great in most cases not so great in others

  • Most guests think its intrusive, but you can still protect your property in a tasteful way

  • Pool cameras are a no no, I went to an airbnb and felt weird they had one pointing at the pool the whole time like what if your kids are swimming in the pool and someone is watching them…

  • Try not to interact with guest with your video doorbell its creepy

  • But the cameras can save you big sometimes like if someone is throwing a party. In Florida there was a murder at a popular resort, the ring camera picked up the faces and helped solve the case. The criminals were so brazen they dragged out the person with no mask on and the cameras helped here...
