JULY 31 Encounter Night // Joel & Ash - Our Story on Vocational Discipleship

Joel and Ash continue our theme of vocational discipleship and it's importance to living out our faith. Vocational Discipleship is to recognise his voice, then simply listening to it. From there we are transformed into a reflection of Jesus. Practically, we do his by seeking him, praying and asking for confirmation and then trusting and having faith. Ultimately, my calling is HIM, as found in the most important commandment Matt 22:37-39

Michelle introduces us to our new theme for the term, Vocational Discipleship. We all have a calling, do we know what it is? Discover that it’s not shaped by what we do or determined by what am I called to do. it is about who am I called to be. That is, to be more like Jesus!!

Michelle speaks into the question, what makes resilient disciples who carry cultural discernment. Through the talk, we are encouraged to be a generation of people who, through Jesus, hold conviction with compassion and practice discernment as a natural habit rather than a rulebook. From this, we trust in God's plan and plant ourselves in it through prayer, reading the word, and our faith community. So, how are you showing people the love of God and who are you praying for?

Starting our new topic this term of cultural discernment as a pillar that forms resilient life long disciples, Tim shares not just what cultural discernment is and how to get it by knowing Christ, but also how to then act on and follow through on wisdom.
