Everyone's Favorite Heresies: Perfect Pastors? Not So Much (01.28.24)
University Presbyterian Church, Chapel Hill, NC by UPC, Chapel Hill
Episode notes
Sermon by Jarrett McLaughlin from 1 John 1:5-9
The word heresy comes from a Greek word meaning “choice” or “thing chosen,” meaning a heretic was someone who made a theological choice that the wider church decided was invalid. There is so much we can learn about our own faith today by examining these “favorite” heresies of our church history. This sermon looks at Donatism, i.e. do pastors have to be perfect?
