Trust is not a piece of information. It's a posture you take towards uncertainty. The more you try to eliminate uncertainty, the more you eliminate trust.

If you can verify everything, you don't really trust anyone. You just have a system you rely on. But systems break. And the moment they do, what's left? Not trust – just an empty space you never learned to sit in.

The healthiest relationships I've seen have this quality: each person allows the other to be opaque. They accept the gap. That's not naivety. That's the foundation.
