Episode notes
Most people’s concept of feminism centers around themes of women’s equality, empowerment, and sisterhood. That was how the first wave feminists saw it, too. My, how things have changed. As feminist theory has devolved since the 1960s into a generic amalgamation of intersectionality and wokeism, antizionism and antisemitism have taken centerstage and Jewish women have been portrayed as the villain.
For those who were shocked by feminists shrieking “Rape is Resistance!” after the atrocities and massacre of October 7th, this conversation will explain why the “women’s movement” decided #metoo unless you’re a Jew, and not to believe Jewish women.
On this episode of the Unapologetically Jewish podcast, Kara Jesella discusses her book, Feminist Antisemitism: An Intellectual History, with Shana Meyerson, and how antisemitism has become so central to academic feminist theory.
