True Disciples 3 Entering the Kingdom The religious leaders in Jesus’ day did not enter. Exert every effort, for only those like little children will enter: The proud will be cast out. Your religion may be your greatest stumbling block to entering the kingdom of Christ.
True Disciples 2 Stumbling Block of the Cross By nature we hate the cross. Threads of self-preservation reject it. Self is spared at all costs; and Self will don a 1000 masks. We must hate Self as our worst enemy in the spiritual life. This is the stumbling block of the cross.
Devotion to Christ is the outmoded relic of yesteryear’s religion. Self and happiness are now our ignoble objects. Only one thing is necessary. We are sickly due to beggarly thoughts of the Lord while esteem for Self is highly inflated.
We are dwelling in days of decline, departure, and darkness. 500 years ago, God used the 95 propositions of Martin Luther to spark a moral and spiritual reformation. Here are our own. May they be used to that same end.
