This is the fifth episode in the #transitzone PANDEMIC PRIMER PODCAST series with epidemiologist, Professor John Potter based in New Zealand. As we recorded this episode, Victoria was just exiting its latest lockdown and NSW premier, Gladys Berejiklian, after some delay and attempting a limited hotspot suburbs only lockdown, announced a "full" lockdown (albeit a far less stringent one than in other states previously). Infections have once again entered an aged care facility with the news very few of the staff had been vaccinated. As we publish the episode, NSW is deciding whether to extend its originally forecast two weeks lockdown. The daily new case numbers will be the key factor.
