This latest #transitzone podcast was recorded on Sunday 25 July 2021 with Peter Clarke in locked-down Melbourne and Margo Kingston in locked-down regional NSW. As the recording began the premier of NSW, Gladys Berejiklian had just announced at a media conference that the latest number for locally acquired Covid19 cases of the Delta variant in her state was 141 with over 50 of those infectious while in the community. There had been more deaths including a woman in her thirties. Berejiklian was continuing to resist a full blooded lockdown, as in other states previously, to suppress the spreading virus. She spoke of "freedoms" for her citizens. NSW is now cut off behind hard borders from the rest of the federation.
