Another episode in the #transitzone continuing series on grassroots democracy in Australia, examining the role of centre-right candidates activating and cohering strong, local community support to take on sitting Liberal Party members in blue ribbon seats especially in Sydney and Melbourne but in other states and regions too. This time, the Sydney seat of Mackellar held since 2016 by Jason Falinski on a 63.2% two party preferred vote. As in other similar seats being targeted, such as North Sydney, the key issues of climate change, integrity in government, including an effectual federal integrity commission and authentic democratic representation are to the fore.
