As L’Oca d’Oro celebrates 10 years in Austin, Fiore reflects on the unlikely path that brought him here, from growing up deaf in an Italian family in upstate New York and playing drums in a punk band to building a career in some of New York and Austin’s most celebrated kitchens.

They talk about why Fiore believes a restaurant should serve more than food, his work helping launch Good Work Austin to support and advocate for the hospitality industry, and why he’s often among the first to show up when his community needs help.
