One brave sailor stands before a room full of powerful people, all of them certain the world is flat, and warns that his ships could sail clean off the edge. He sets out anyway, and proves them all wrong. What a story.

Almost none of it happened. Cass loves the tale. Pip points out that educated people had known the Earth was round for two thousand years, that the real argument was about something else entirely, and that the whole flat-Earth legend was cooked up by a spooky-story writer three hundred years too late.
