How do you become who you are?
Long before you had the ability to question what you believed about yourself, you were absorbing ideas about who you were, what was possible, what was safe, what you deserved, and how you were supposed to move through the world.
Your environment shaped you. Your experiences shaped you. The people around you reflected things back to you. Beliefs were repeated. Patterns were reinforced. And over time, a concept of yourself began to feel like simply who you are.
But what if the self you know is not fixed? What if much of what you call “me” is a construct you learned, adopted, and reinforced?
