Season 3
Episode 33 (N.O.S. Found Its Groove)
And we're baaaaack... Welcome to Season 3, episode 33, of The Spokes People Podcast! To kick off the new(ish) year, Dave, Dave & Ken are joined once again by one of our favorite returning guests, James Krist to discuss all things Nebraska Off-Road Series, (N.O.S.)
Season 2
Episode 32 (Gifts & Resolutions)
For our final episode of the season Dave, Dave, & Jamie discuss their picks for best bike related gifts this holiday season, as well as new years resolutions. So if you don't know what to get your bike riding loved one, or are looking for a good way to spend you holiday money, be sure to tune in to The Spokes People podcast.
Episode 31 ("The Main Five" follow up)
Following up from our last episode, Dave & Dave once again sit down with all-star-super-star honorary-third-member Ken Theis to hear about "The Main Five" ride he hosted in November. (Listen to episode 29 if you'd like to catch up on how that ride came to be) It was a hard, wet, and cold ride by all accounts, but if you're wondering how it really went for the riders or if Ken's up for putting it on again next year, you'll just have to tune in and find out. Later in the episode we discuss winter training plans and what recent buy's Ken would recommend to his fellow riders.
Episode XXX (Coffee & Music w/Ken and Jamie)
Every episode here at The Spokes People Podcast is special, but we'd be lying if we didn't say some episodes are a little more "special" than others. Today we bring you one of those "special" episodes. For the 30th installment of The Spokes People Podcast, Dave & Dave are joined again by friends Ken Theis and Jamie Schmidt to discuss all things Coffee and Music (and we do mean ALL things). It's another long and winding road of discussion folks, but we're sure you'll enjoy every minute!
Episode 29 ("The Main Five")
Episode 29 of The Spokes People podcast is here with two very very special guests! Kicking off the start of the episode we're joined for the first time—finally—by the ever elusive Jamie Schmidt to discuss the contentious yet very important subject of E-bikes. No matter where you stand on the subject, we guarantee the conversation to be thorough and insightful. And for the main topic of conversation, Ken Theis joins us once again, this time to walk us through a very special ride he's putting on—"The Main Five"—followed by a very candid dialog about the role of mental health and need for community in our biking circles.
Episode 28 (Fall Season Prep)
Dave (Henson) and Dave (FDR) return for episode 28 of the Spokes People podcast! First, a recap of everything we've missed since the summer season began followed by a look at what to expect going into the fall season. And to end the show, a candid conversation on the worrying state of independent bike shops and their role in supporting communities.
Episode 27 (Shop Talk/Tour Talk)
It's that time of year again... okay maybe we're a little late. If you haven't heard, Tour de France season has opened to a very exciting start. And although we weren't able to have our pre-race prep show this year, we still wanted to bring you a bit of coverage while it's happening. But before that, the two Daves wanted to take some time to discuss a notable change in one of our local events here in Omaha, The Tuesday Night Worlds Criterium Series. So join us on episode 27 of the Spoke People Podcast for a chill, informative and notably anti-lime scooter conversation!
Episode 26 (W.M.B.A. with Cara & Jen)
And now for something very new! So far for this season of The Spokes People podcast we've been featuring some of our returning and familiar guests in an effort to catch up with and show continued support for the many amazing organizations and riders that make Nebraska great. But for episode 26 we've decided to change it up and shine a light on a brand new group to the Nebraska biking scene: the Women's Mountain Biking Alliance of Nebraska or "WMBA" as they prefer it. This week were joined by Cara Stirts, and Jen Hale to talk about what makes WMBA such and important and different organization for women cyclists in Nebraska, the need they hope to fill, and the how and why you should get involved! It's a great episode and we hope to have them as yet another amazing returning set of voices to our show! Note: FDR was unfortunately unavailable this week (not new) but don't worry, resident badass Ken Theis was able to take up his first official shift as co-host this week along side Dave.
Episode 25 (Louisville Classic Gravel Grinder Race-day Special pt. 2)
Last time on The Spokes People podcast, Dave (Henson) and Dave (FDR), were in Louisville Nebraska talking to all the fine folks spectating, organizing and participating in this years windy and wild Louisville Classic Gravel Grinder. Like we mentioned last episode, we weren't able to fit all of our wonderful guests into just one episode, so we're back again with even more. From start line, to finish line, to your ears, join us once again for part 2 of our Louisville Classic Gravel Grinder race day special. Episode 25 (Louisville Classic Gravel Grinder Race-day Special pt. 1)
A week ago we packed up our gear and headed down to Louisville, Nebraska for our much anticipated Louisville Classic Gravel Grinder on-location-race-day-episode! You may have seen us there, hell, you may have even spoken to us. We had so many amazing guest voices, both first timers and regulars, and we’re very excited for you to hear all of the stories and insights we were able to gather during and after the race. So tune in and enjoy part 1 of our first ever Spokes People podcast race day special. Photo Credits: McColgan Photography
