Episode notes
What do you get when you mix the powerhouse voice of Lou Gramm, the guitar fire of Vivian Campbell, a rock-solid rhythm section, and zero label support?
Shadow King — the ‘90s supergroup that lit a spark and disappeared almost overnight.
In this deep dive episode, Jimmy breaks down the origins, only album, one live show, and sudden disappearance of one of hard rock’s greatest “what could’ve been” bands. It’s a story of timing, talent, and a shifting music industry that left melodic rockers stranded in the grunge era.
We’ve got back stories, track breakdowns, industry gossip, and a heap of "how did this get buried?" attitude.
Whether you’re a die-hard fan or hearing their name for the first time — it’s time to shed some light on Shadow King.
Jimmy was inspired to produce this episode after reading an article on AmericanSongwriter.com by EM Casalena about Shadow King. It is a great read...you should check it out!
