Episode 16: An Anniversary, An Exit Plan, & a Blindside Spritz

This week on Therapy for the Pour, we’re talking about what happens when the person who’s supposed to protect you… is the one who puts you in the worst position. Story one starts with what should’ve been a romantic anniversary dinner—and turns into a full-blown betrayal when a husband secretly repurposes the night into a “healing party” for his sister… without ever telling his wife. Because nothing says love like public humiliation, right? Then we get into a story that will genuinely make your stomach drop… finding a hidden “in case we divorce” folder on a spouse’s laptop—complete with documents, plans, and receipts… all while the relationship seemed completely normal on the surface. As always… we’re unpacking the chaos one story at a time—because therapy is expensive, and sometimes you just need a drink.

Episode 15: One-Sided Love, Misplaced Expectations & a Morning Mimosa

In this episode of Therapy for the Pour, we unpack two stories that explore love, jealousy, and the expectations we place on relationships. The first story dives into unrequited love and what it feels like to hold onto someone who was never truly yours to begin with. The second story takes a deeper look at insecurity, emotional conflict, and what happens when someone struggles to accept a life that doesn’t match the one they imagined. Both stories highlight a difficult but important truth — sometimes love is there, but it still isn’t enough to make a relationship work. Paired with a morning mimosa, because if we’re unpacking emotional chaos before noon… we might as well do it properly.

Episode 14: Broken Trust, Loyalty Tests & a Southern Comfort Spritz

In this episode of Therapy for the Pour, we unpack two stories that revolve around trust and the ways it can quietly unravel inside relationships. The first story dives into a deeply emotional situation involving grief, sentimental value, and what happens when someone disrespects something that represents a lost loved one. The second story explores a different side of relationship conflict — loyalty tests, insecurity, and what happens when trust is replaced with traps and outside opinions. As always, we break it all down one story at a time over a Southern Comfort Spritz, because therapy is expensive… but a drink and some perspective can go a long way.

Episode 13: False Jokes, Real Fear & a Botanical Spritz

This episode unpacks a story that moves quickly from uncomfortable to deeply concerning. What was framed as a joke becomes a conversation about intimidation, trust, and recognizing when a situation isn’t safe. Paired with a Botanical Seltzer Spritz, we talk about how fear should never be part of a relationship, why these moments can signal escalation, and the importance of listening to your instincts instead of explaining them away. Some situations aren’t meant to be fixed — they’re meant to be left.

Episode 12: Private Things Don’t Belong in Public Conversations, with an Espresso Martini

This episode dives into a story about humor, boundaries, and what happens when personal vulnerabilities are shared in the wrong setting. We unpack the difference between playful teasing and public embarrassment — and why trust can be damaged in moments that don’t seem serious at first. Paired with an Espresso Martini, because sometimes things that look smooth still leave a bitter aftertaste.

Episode 11: Little Effort, Late Conversations, and a Hot Toddy

This week’s story is a Valentine’s Day aftermath that feels less like romance and more like a reality check. We unpack a relationship that asked for advice a little too late, the red flags that showed up loud and clear, and the hard truth about believing people when they show you exactly how they feel. We’re pairing this one with a cozy Hot Toddy — because while the weather (and the drink) may be warm, this relationship definitely was not.

Episode 10: Love, Red Flags & Raspberry Bubbles — A Valentine’s Special

This Valentine’s Day, we’re switching things up. Joined by my husband Rico, we unpack three different stories straight from Reddit’s relationship advice — each one exploring love, conflict, and the messy reality behind romantic expectations. With a glass of raspberry champagne in hand (specifically a Verdi Raspberry Sparkletini), we talk through red flags, communication struggles, and the kinds of situations that make you pause and ask, “Is this love… or is this a lesson?” Because not every Valentine’s story is picture-perfect — and that’s exactly why we’re here.

Episode 9: An IPA and the Cost of Misplaced Anger

This week on Therapy for the Pour, we’re pairing a bold IPA with a story about a father, a wedding, and a daughter who absorbed consequences she never created. We unpack emotional abandonment, misplaced punishment, and the lasting impact of adults avoiding accountability. Some stories don’t go down easy — and neither does this one.

Episode 8: Comfort in Control & A Spiked Lemonade

This episode of Therapy for the Pour unpacks a relationship advice story where a new partner slowly takes over someone’s space — without ever officially moving in. What starts as convenience turns into suffocation, blurred boundaries, and growing fear, especially when concerns about pets and safety enter the picture. We, yes WE! talk about how control doesn’t always announce itself, why discomfort is a valid warning sign, and when it’s time to stop being polite and start protecting yourself.

Episode 7: Truth on the Rocks: When Honesty Crosses a Line

This week on Therapy for the Pour, we’re sipping Truth on the Rocks and unpacking a story where “being honest” comes with consequences. We talk desire vs commitment, emotional responsibility, and why not every thought needs to be shared inside a marriage. Cheers! -To unpacking the chaos one pour at a time
